News of the year is the introduction of the Big Boat Series starting the weekend prior to the traditional One Design Event. Once again the Hankø Race Week will offer a full week of sailing!

In organizing the Hankø Race Week, the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club (KNS) is working in cooperation with Fredrikstad Sailing Club.
The One Design Series is open to all boats of the 11m OD, Melges 24, X-99, 5.5mR, Express, H-Boat, Dragon and IOD classes complying with class rules and the Notice of Race.
The racing area just outside the island of Hankø offers one of the best race courses in Norway, some would say one of the best race courses in the world. The island is located in the south-eastern part of Norway at the Oslo Fjord, not far from the Swedish border. The race course is exposed to sea breezes from the southwest and generally offers very good and fair sailing. The wind conditions are normally stable with no tidal problems. From Oslo to Hankø it`s about 60 minutes drive by car. Fredrikstad is the closest city with 70.000 inhabitants, just 15 minutes drive from Hankø. Hankø is known to be a summer resort with private summer homes and the Hankø Hotel & Spa.
